Winners of CCP Alternative Film and Video Tilt Named

Winners of the Ika-23 Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video were named in awarding rites on November 25, 2011 at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde (Dream Theater).
In the Animation category, First Prize went to Paano Hulihin ang Araw by Jane Mariel L. Almoneda and Second Prize went to Sanayan Lang Ang Pagpatay by Gil Joseph A. Sanchez. No Third Prize was awarded. Ay Bulate! By Daryl R. Layson, Himig by Edlaine Ann S. Mercado and Kalaro by Girlie A. Palo won Honorable Mentions.
In the Experimental category, Class Picture by Timmy Harn and Gym Lumbera won the First Prize. No Second prize was awarded. Manenaya (waiting) by Richard Soriano Legaspi won Third Prize.

Honorable Mentions were given to Bangungot by Gino M. Santos and Kumpisalang Bayan (Bago ang Lahat) by Caloy Limjap Soliongco.
In the Documentary category, First Prize was shared by Agos (Waves) by Samantha Lee and Working While in Class by Maevelyn Calapardo. No Second Prize was given. Third Prize went to As Told by the Butterflies by Nawruz Paguidopon.
In Short Feature category, Sarong Aldaw by Marianito Dio, Jr. won First Prize was awarded to Dahil Sa ‘Yo by Gym Lumbera while Honorable Mentions were given to Man of the House by Chuck Hipol and Inosensya by Mikhail Red.
The award for Best Regional Entry went to Sarong Aldaw by Marianito Dio, Jr. while Paano Hulihin ang Araw by Jane Mariel L. Almoneda won the award for Best Work By/For/On Children.
Cash prizes were awarded to winners of the different categories (1st Prize, P25,000; 2nd Prize, P15,000 and 3rd Prize, 10,000). Winners of the special awards were given cash prizes of P15,000 each.
The Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video is the longest-running independent film competition in Asia. This year, it was held at the CCP from November 22-25 at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde.
